At Andrews Hedgehog Hospital, we rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned hedgehogs, giving each one the best possible chance to return safely to the wild. We recognise that rising living costs are placing pressure on household budgets and on charitable donations. To ensure we can continue saving hedgehogs during this difficult period, we have introduced a new short-term alternative to traditional donations.
Every hedgehog that comes into our care receives a registration number and a photo following their initial examination. When you sponsor a hedgehog, you are directly supporting the cost of that individual animal’s recovery.
Caring for a hedgehog is costly. Weekly care includes essential needs such as Food and water, Medication and medical treatments Additional care requirements such as heating, bedding, and enclosure cleaning are also vital to recovery. These costs relate solely to the animal’s direct care. They do not include the wider running costs of the hospital, including veterinary fees, site maintenance, utilities, and rent.
